£5 Million and Counting: How Scorpion Automotive Group Has Recovered Over £5M in Vehicles This Year

Halfway through July, Scorpion Automotive Group’s 2026 running total quietly crossed a milestone: over £5 million worth of vehicles recovered in a single calendar year.

That figure — built month by month, recovery by recovery — represents something more than a number. It’s the sum total of what happens when the right technology meets a team that doesn’t switch off.

WHAT JULY’S RECOVERIES ADDED

July’s contribution to that total was £828,100 —by the combined teams of Datatool and ScorpionTrack. It was a month that saw everything from a Honda scooter retrieved in 6 minutes to a Mercedes-AMG tracked over 131 minutes and returned to its owner.

£396,750 came from Datatool’s motorcycle and scooter recoveries — with the Honda NSC110 the most frequently stolen model of the month.

£431,350 came from ScorpionTrack’s car and van recoveries — including a Toyota Prius, an Audi RS Q3 Sport and a Mercedes-AMG A45 S 4MATIC+.

WHAT £5 MILLION ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE

£5 million sounds abstract until you break it down. It’s a Ducati Multistrada found in 11 minutes. It’s a BMW tracked across county lines. It’s a Honda WW returned to its owner before the thief had time to plan their next move.

Every vehicle in that total had a tracker fitted. Every owner called us when the worst happened. Every one of them got their vehicle back.

HOW THE RECOVERY PROCESS WORKS

Speed doesn’t happen by accident. When a theft is reported, Scorpion Automotive Group’s Vehicle Recovery Specialists immediately access the live GPS position of the stolen vehicle. They assess the data, contact the relevant police force and provide tracking updates in real time — keeping officers informed as the vehicle moves.

The police then deploy units to the live location. In July’s fastest recovery, that entire process — from theft to recovery — took less time than most people spend in a queue at a coffee shop.

WHY BOTH BRANDS MATTER

Datatool and ScorpionTrack serve different markets, but the technology and the team behind them are the same.

  • Datatool focuses on motorcycles, scooters, quad bikes and agricultural vehicles — protecting the two-wheeled and off-road community with tailored tracking solutions.
  • ScorpionTrack provides Thatcham-approved tracking for cars and vans — with category-level certification that can directly impact your insurance premium.

In July, together they recovered £828,100 worth of vehicles— proof that having the right system for your specific vehicle type makes all the difference.

THE METROPOLITAN POLICE: A CRITICAL PARTNERSHIP

No recovery happens without police involvement, and the Metropolitan Police Force has been the most active force in responding to Scorpion Automotive Group cases throughout 2026. Their responsiveness to real-time tracking intelligence — and their speed in deploying units to live locations — is a central part of why our recovery rates remain strong.

Across every region, we work directly with local forces to share GPS data, provide live location updates and support officers on the ground. It’s a partnership built on trust and results.

THE GOAL: EVERY STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED

£5 million is a milestone worth marking. But the ambition doesn’t stop there. Every month that passes without a customer’s vehicle being permanently lost is a success. And every recovery — whether it’s a £1,200 scooter or a £45,000 SUV — matters equally.

Scorpion Automotive provides advanced security and stolen vehicle tracking for motorcycles and scooters, cars, vans and SUVs and motorhomes and leisure vehicles.

If you don’t yet have a Scorpion Automotive tracking system fitted, the time to act is before you need it.
